Designing for conversations
at iAdvize

iAdvize help brands being closer to their customer’s thanks to a great conversational platform.

With iAdvize, the human touch, combined with AI's power, creates the best possible customer experience.

Overview

I worked at iAdvize as a product designer and product design manager from 2015 to 2020.

Building a platform

During the years I worked at iAdvize, I had the privilege to contribute to the many sides of the product.

Conversational experiences

This is the heart of iAdvize's value proposition. How to humanize the conversation while making it as effective as possible? For that, as a designer, I had the chance to contribute to the conversational experience visible on the brand’s websites and the tool dedicated to the brands and their advisers.

Targeting & management tools

For example, iAdvize users can:

  • Manage their engagement strategy, via an interface that allows the creation of targeted campaigns, based on fixed and intelligent criteria.

  • Pilot their teams, thanks to a feature-rich administration.

Chatbot set up

Advisors can be assisted by AIs or chatbots, upstream or during the conversation.
I had the opportunity to work several times on complete interfaces that allow brands to create chatbots scenarios and monitor their performance.

Performance-driven dashboards

Brands can measure their strategy's success, see transactions associated with the chat, and take advantage of 150 KPIs, to better understand their customers' expectations. For this, over the years, we have improved the dashboards' experience and brought new types of reports.

Skills & Methods

High fidelity designs and prototypes

I've always been a perfectionist, and I like to push my ideas until a really clean and almost real prototype is born. Over the course of the years at iAdvize, I created a lot of high-quality interfaces and prototypes to present ideas, or showcase the product on various internal or external events.

Design team processes

By being an active member of the design team until 2018 and then as a manager, I had the opportunity to test many processes to improve our efficiency and work quality as designers and as a team. For example design sprints, designs tickets, design duo, sprint meetings, design checklists…

User-testing methods

Before arriving at iAdvize, I had no idea about how to test a product and include users. I started small by sending a simple questionnaire at the end of new features presentations to clients. Then, I searched to score the results to compare them and point out what needed iterations. Later on, we started to create more massive tests thanks to Maze or UsabilityHub.

Design system

For me, a product is a living, growing and evolving entity. As a designer, it's important to create patterns and systems that the user can hold onto when using the product. As a product designer, part of my work has been to fight inconsistencies to provide a reliable interface to the users. We also built a design system with the engineering teams: our goal was to fully benefit from the hours of design, testing and developing a new component.

Illustrated product

I've always been attached to illustration. I deeply think this tool can convey real emotions and meaning to a product. So over the years, I started to illustrate concepts and give more sense to empty, error and success screens. As all designers were autonomous, we set up guidelines and illustration libraries to facilitate the process.

Collaboration between teams

While I'm describing a lot what I did as a designer, one thing is clear, nothing would have been possible without all the people and talents around. One of the main thing I learned is that designers alone can't do anything. They need to collaborate with engineers, product managers, marketing, customer-facing people and users, to deliver an amazing experience. So I did my best to collaborate with the design team and all the others by creating process and recurring meetings to progress together.

The designs

Here are a few of the projects I had the opportunity to work on with my amazing product, design and engineer amazing colleagues.
