12 years as a designer.
Countless projects, endless learning, constant questioning.

My focus is centred on understanding each project's unique challenges and needs, and developing solutions that engage and delight users.

What the last 12 years looked like

Create, make, repeat (2011 to 2015)

In 2011, at 20, I started my freelance designer business. For 4 years, I wore many hats, from graphic, logotype, webdesign, print to data visualisation designer, and illustrator.

Grow and join forces (2015 to 2020)

In 2015, I joined the iAdvize Product team as a Product Designer. For 3 years, I had the opportunity to make a product built around conversation. I helped design amazing features with our users’ constant help during this time, and I elaborated on design and testing processes. In 2018, I became Product Design Manager and led the design team. Besides my role as a designer, I worked hard to ensure our product's consistency and improve collaboration between the design and all the other teams.

Freelance and move abroad (2020 to Today)

At the beginning of 2020, I left France to go to Japan and embrace a new life as a nomad & freelance product designer.

After a brief return to France, I spent a few months in Munich and then travelled north to Stockholm, where I have lived since December 2021. You can follow my daily life on my Instagram account @mylenela

“Give me problems, not solutions”

As a product designer, my approach to design is centred around a deep understanding of the needs of both my clients and their target users.

I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all process when it comes to designing successful digital product journeys. Instead, my design process consistently evolves and adapts to meet each project's unique challenges and requirements.

I believe having a solid toolkit is essential to being an effective product designer. I am always looking for new and innovative tools to help me deliver the best possible results for my clients. I am happy to share my tools with clients, providing recommendations based on my experience and expertise as a product designer.

Principles

Beautifully made interface

My passion is to transform ideas into beautiful, meaningful and intuitive user experiences that positively impact people's lives.

Question, design, test, & repeat

A project always starts with an idea, and then I see my job as an almost never-ending process. I believe that iterations and repeated reassessment make a better product, this is why I ask a lot of questions!

Users are kings

As a designer in my 9 years of experience, I learned that always having open communication with users is the key to an efficient and meaningful product. I had the opportunity to create and try many different testing processes and run workshops to define or improve user experiences.

Wherever the user is

I am dedicated to creating experiences adapted to the wide range of habits people have, from websites on mobile and desktop devices to mobile applications.

Product illustration

I love to build a product with human and powerful illustrations that serve the experience and make it more fun and memorable.

Design system

I strongly believe that the time for disposable things is long gone. As a designer, it is my duty to create smart interfaces and components that should be part of a bigger system. Time is too precious to design & develop the same thing twice.

Accessible & Inclusive

Users are all beautifully different, so I am dedicated to creating accessible, inclusive, and caring experiences.

Powerful tools

I'm always up to test new tools and improve my workflow in the process. So far, I know how to handle: Figma, Sketch, Procreate, Principle, Protopie, Lottie & The Adobe Suite.
